Vesting with the Chennai City Civil Court to receive, try and dispose of all suits and other proceedings of civil nature within the city of Chennai up to 10 lakhs [G. O. Ms. No. 1742, HOME (CTS. III), DATED THE 23RD NOVEMBER 1995} No. II(2)/HO/3595 (C-3)/951.-In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3-A of the 2[Chennai] City Civil Court Act, 1892, (Central Act VII of 1892) as amended by clause (1) of section 3 of the Tamil Nadu Civil Courts and the 2[Chennai] City Civil Court (Amendment) Act, 1995 (Tamil Nadu Act 28 of 1995) and in supersession of the Home Department Notification No. II (2)/HO/ 1018/81, dated the 23rd February 1981, published at page 177 in Part II-Section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, dated the 4th March 1981, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby invests, with effect on and from the 1st December 1995, the 2[Chennai] City Civil Court subject to the exceptions specified in section 3 of the 2[Chennai] City Civil Court Act, 1892 (Central Act VII of 1892) with jurisdiction to receive, try and dispose of all suits and other proceedings, of a civil nature arising within the City of 2[Chennai] and of value not exceeding ten 1akhs of rupees. 1.
