70 The Rajasthan Urban Improvement Trust Rules, 1961 THE RAJASTHAN URBAN IMPROVEMENT TruST RULES, 1961 [Notification No. F. 4 (32) LSG/1959, dated 5.10.1964, published in Rajasthan Gazette, Part IV-C dated 29.11.1964]. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 74 of the Rajasthan Urban Improvement Act, 1959 (Rajasthan Act 35 of 1959), the State Government hereby makes the following Rules, namely: CHAPTER Preliminary 1. Short title and commencement _ These Rules may be called the Rajasthan Urban Improvement Trust Rules, 1961. They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2_ Definitions-_In these rules, unless there is something re- pugnant in the subject or context _ (a) Act' means the Rajasthan Urban Improvement Act, 1959 (Act 35 of 1959); (b) 'Treasury' means a Government treasury or sub-treasury or bank to which the Government Treasury business has been made over; (c) 'Competent Authority' means trust or such other authorities to whom powers in this regard may be delegated by him; (d) 'Section' means a section of the Act; (e) 'Chairman' means the Chairman of the Urban Improvement Trust established under section 8; '[(f) 'Head of Office' means the Secretary of the Urban Improve- ment Trust:] 3. Whenever in these rules the exercise of any power or the performance of any duty has been assigned to the Trust, the Trust Added by Notification No. F. (40) UDHII/83 dated 9.8.1985, published in Raj: Gazette Part 4 (Ga) (1) dated 12.9.85.
