Government of Jharkhand Labour, Employment and Training Department NOTIFICATION The 1st August, 2007 S.O. 19, dated the Sth August, 2007 In exercise of the powers conferred by section-62(4) and section-40 of Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Services) Act; 1996 27 of 1996 and after consultation with, the expert committee in this respect the Governor of Jharkhand is pleased to make rules namely 'Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Services) Jharkhand Rules, 2006" which will be effective in the whole state of Jharkhand from the date of publication in Gazette. Jharkhand Rules, 2006. (2) They shall come into force o the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. Definitions In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires, (a). Act" means the Building and Other Construction Workers' (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act; 1996 (27 of 1996); (b)_ "access or "egress' means passageways, corridors, stairs, platforms, ladders and any other means to be used by building worker for normally entering or leaving the workplace or for escaping in case of danger; (c)_ approved' means approved in writing by the Chief Inspector or the State Government as the case may be (d)_ 'base plate' means a plate for distributing the load from a s
