In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1 ) and (2) of section 6 of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly Members (Payment of Pension) Act, 1984 (+ of 1984), the State Government hereby makes the following rules_ namely These rules may be ca lled the Sikkim Legislative Assembly Members Short title and (1) Commencement. (Payment ol Pension) Rules, 9 84. They shall come into force with effect from ISt October, 19 84, (2 ) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires = Definitions. Act" means thc Sikkim Legislative Assembly Members (Payment of" Pension) Act, 1984 ; (b) Annexure means an Annexure appended tO these rules; k X(c) Assembly means the Sikkim Legislative Assembly as defined in clause k (a) of section of" the Act ; Member mcans member of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly cons- Itituted in the year 1979 and thereafter: Words and expressions used in the Act and not defined in these rules shall have the mieanings respectively assigned to them in the Act.
