Bhopal the 17th May 2017 No. F 7-12/2016/29—1, In exercise of the powers conferred by sub section (1) and (2) of section 40 of the National fOOd. Security Act, 2013 (20 of 2013), the State Government, hereby, makes the following rules which have been previously published in the Madhya Pradesh Gazelle dated 7th April, 2017, namely :- RULES CHAPTER I Short title, extent and commencement:- These Rules may be called the Madhya Pradesh Food Security Rules, 2017. <2) They shall extend to the whole ofMadhya Pradesh. ('3) They shall come in to force from the date of thier publication in the Madhya Pradesh Gazette. L Definifions.(1) In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "Act" means the National Food Security Act, 2013 (20 of2013); (b) "Appellant" means a party which makes an appeal against the order ofthe District Grievance Redressal Officer; . (C) "Chairperson" means Chairperson of Madhya Pradesh State Food Commission established under section 16 ofthe Act; (d) "Complaint" means and includes a representation in writing or through electronic means containing a grievance alleging deficiency /short comings in the implementation ofthe Act; (e) "District Grievance Redressal Officer" means an officer of the district authorized by the State Government under the National Food Security Act to dispose of the complaints in the District. (f) "Food Commission" means Madhya Pradesh State Food Commission constituted under section 16 of the Act for the purpose of monitoring and review of implementation ofthe Act; _ (g) "Member" means Member ofthe State Food Commission; (h) "Member-Secretary" means Member-Secretary ofthe State Food Commission.
