Rules MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS NOTIFICATION New Delhi; the Sth December; 2002 G.S.R. 801(E) In exercise of the powers conferred by section 44 of the Haj Committee Act; 2002, the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely (1) These rules may be called the Haj Committee Rules; 2002. Short title and commencement 1 (2) They shall come into force on their publications inf Ithe Official Gazette: IIn these rules, unless the context otherwise requires; (a) "Act" means the Haj Committee Act; 2002; (b) "Chairperson" means the Chairperson of thel ICommittee; (c) "Committee" means the Haj Committee of India kconstituted under section 3; Definitions 2 (d) section means a section of the Act; (e) "Schedule" means the Schedule to the Act; zone' means a zone specified in the Schedule; (g) words and expressions used in these rules and hot defined but defined in the Act shall have thel Irespective meanings assigned to them in the Act: Headquarters of the Committee 3 The Committee shall have its Headquarters at Mumbai: THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [Part II-Sec.3(i)] PART I NOMINATION OR ELECTION OF MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE Manner of Nomination The Central Government shall be responsible for procuring Or making lor election of 4 Inomination of members of the Committee and the conduct of their imembers of the lelection in accordance with the provisions of section 4_ ICommittee k1) The Central Government will invite nominations from the Speaker lof the House of the People and the Chairman of the Council of States, IInviting nomination las the case may be, in respect of the three members specified in clause lfrom the Members of 5 Ki) of section 4, at least four months before the constitution or Parliament freconstitution of the Committee [Provided that if any member
