GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL LEGISLATIVE DEPARTMENT West Bengal Act XXVIII of 1975 THE WEST BENGAL COUNCIL OF HIGHER SECONDARY EDUCATION (AMENDMENT) ACT; 1975. [Passed by the West Bengal Legislature_ [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Calcutta Gazette, Extraordinary of the 2Sth August, 1975.] [2Sth August; 1975.] An Act to amend the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education Act; 1975. West Ben_ WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the West Bengal Council of Higher Act VIII of J975_ Secondary Education Act, 1975, for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Twenty-sixth Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows: 1. This Act may be called the West Bengal Council of Higher Short title_ Secondary Education (Amendment) Act; 1975. 2 In section 18 of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Amendment of sectionl8 Education Act; 1975 (hereinafter referrcd to as the said Act); of WestBen (i) in sub-section (1), for the words Boards of Studies in one Or Act VIII of 1975. more the words Boards of Studics for one Or more subjects in one Or more shall be substituted; (ii) in sub-section (2), (a) in clause (iv), for the words in the branch" the words "in any of the subjects in the branch of education' shall be substituted. (b) in clause (v), for the words 'in the branch the words "inany ofthe subjects in the branch" shall be substituted; (iii) after sub-section (3), the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely: "(3A) Notwithstanding anything contained in clause (iv) of sub-section (2), the members referred to therein shall, for the purpose of first constitution of any Board of 143 The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (Amendment)Act; 1975.
