West Ben. Act XXXII of 1972 WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the West Bengal Housing Board Act; 1972 for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Forty-fourth Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows 1. (1) This Act may be called the West Bengal Housing Board Short title and (Amendment) Act; 1993. comnmence - ment_ (2) It shall come into force on such date aS the State Government may by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. 2. In section 2 of the West Bengal Housing Board Act, 1972 Amendment of section 2 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act); of West Ben Act XXXII (1) after clause (1), the following clause shall be inserted: of 1972 '(IA) Board of Directors has the same meaning aS in clause (6) ofsection 2 ofthe Companies Act, 1956;' after clause (5), the following clause shall be inserted= '(SA) "company means a company as defined in 'section 3 of the Companies Act, 1956;' (3) after clause (6), the following clauses shall be inserled: _ '(6A) "director" has the same meaning as in clause (13) of section 2 of the Companies Act, 1956; (6B) "existing joint sector company' means a joint sector company which is carrying o business on the date of coming into force of the West Bengal Housing Board (Amendment) Act; [993;' of 1956. 167 The West Bengal Housing Board (Amendment) Act 1993.
