10 · The Vice Chancellor shall have the power to order random sample verificationof the original records relating to the award of Internal Assessment marks by an IMU Campus O Affiliated Institute for particular paper Or papers at any point of time. In the event of non-production of records, an adverse inference shall be drawn and the Vice Chancellor shall have the right to order that the Internal Assessment marks for that paper O papers or component O components for which records have not been produced as Zero. The defaulting Affiliated Institute shall also be liable for disaffiliation from IMU. 11. This Ordinance shall take effect from 01.08.2017. It shall override the regulations, if any, pertaining to the award of Internal Assessment marks in any previous Ordinances/Regulations/Circular Instructions Ordinance 02 of 2017 [Executive Council resolution No.EC 2016-37-09 dated 22.12.2016] "Ordinance governing the Discipline of Students of IMU Campuses and Affiliated Institutes All powers relating to discipline and disciplinary action in relation to students of the University shall vest in the Vice-Chancellor. 2 Without prejudice to the generality of the Vice Chancellor s powers, a Director of an IMU Campus shall have the power to suspend a student for period not exceeding 30 days on grounds of indiscipline, misconduct O acts unbecoming of a student of the University under immediate intimation to the Registrar along with the reasons for suspension: Provided that if the suspension of the student is to be extended beyond 30 days, the Director shall obtain the previous approval of the Vice Chancellor before the expiry of the 30-day period. Provided further that the Vice Chancellor may revoke the suspension of student if done wrongfully by the Director; Or place a student under suspension if the Director has failed to do $o in spite of the situation warranting the same_ 3 Director of an IMU Campus shall also have powers to levy fine not exceeding Rs 1,000/ - for lesser offences committed by a student not warranting suspension: All powers relating to the discipline and disciplinary action concerning students of a College or an Institution not maintained by the University shall vest in the Principal/Head of the Institution as the case may be_ 5_ student of an Affiliated College/Institution would come within the disciplinary jurisdiction of the University at the time of conduct of University Examination Or any other University activity, and he shall be subject to any punishment that may be imposed by the competent authority of the University for having committed such an act of indiscipline, misconduct O act unbecoming of a student of the University. 6_ The Principal or the Head of the Affiliated College/Institution may inflict any of the following punishments: i) Suspension ii) Expulsion iii) Rustication for a specil fied period iv) Denial of admission to courses of study in the College/Institution concerned.
