ANIMAL HUSBANDRY DEPARTMENT Notification T he 12th/ 13th Ja nu ar y, 2000 No. 180—AH-1-2000/538. --The Governor ol Haryana hereby constitutes the Haryana Livestock Development Board with immediate effect to promote breeding and development of livestock specially cattle and buffaloes in the State by undertaking *activities relating to and nebessary for improving livestock production and productivity. The objectives of the Board will be:- (i) to improve the genetic stock of animals in the State. (ii) to preserve and multiply the 'Murrah' germplasm and also take adequate steps to export it. · . · · (iii) . to assist the farmers in providing technical . know-how for 'improving the stock, and to assist them by . providing artificial insemination and embryo transfer technology and other allied breeding facilities. (iv) to promOte, organise .and nurture institutions outside the Government to . generate .quality - breeding · inplits and for—delivery of breeding services at the . farmers' door -step . on progressively self -generating and economically viable (v) to Modernise and upgrade existing training facilities, establish new training · facilities where necessary and set in motion a comprehensive human resources. development programme, enhancingskills and Professional competence at all levels on a regular and continuing basis. (vi) to establish collaboration and network arrangements with institutions of repute within the country as well as overseas to obtain newer technologies and to upgrade skills, on all aspects of livestock production, livestock products, product processing, . storage, transport and merchandising and also to . collaborate in research work and setting up joint ventures and joint projects in · the area of livestock·development. · (vii) to .a .arrange loans
