No F 2011 13-1-2011-XXIX-2 In exercise of the powers conferred 616 by (4) State section 53 of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 (No. 1 of 2010), the State Government, after consultation with the Central Government, hereby make the Madhya Pradesh Legal Metrology Rules, 2011, the same having been previously published in the Madhya Pradesh Gazette (Extra-ordinary) dated 11 March, 2011, as required by sub section of the said section, namely: Short title, 1. (1) These rules be called the Madhya Pradesh extent and commencement. Definitions. Standard of weights, measures numerals. Reference Standards, Secondary Legal Metrology may Rules, 2011. They extend to the whole of Madhya Pradesh. (3) They shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of these rules. 2. (1) In these rules, unless the context. otherwise requires, (a) "Act" means the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 (No. 2010); 1 (b) "Reference Standards Laboratory" means Laboratory set up by the Central Government under of a the Act; (c) "Schedule" means a Schedule appended to these rules. Words and expressions used and not defined these rules but defined in the Act and other rules made in under the Act shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in the Act and those rules. 3. The base units, derived units, other units of weights, measures and base unit of numeration as specified by or under the Act shall be the Standard units of weights, measures and numerals. 4.
