2 · Definitions

16 · Person whosc titlz to a bond of a deceased sole holder may be recogniscd (1) The cxccutors Or administrators of a deccas- ed sole holder of bond (whcther Hindu, Mohaj medan, Parsi or otherwise) and the holder of succession certificate issued under Part X of the Indian Succession Act; 1925 (39 %f [925) in respcct of the bond shall bc the only persons wh) may be recog- nised bv the ollice of issue (subject to any gen-ral or specia] instructions of the' preS - cribed officer) as having any title to the bond. (2) Notwithstunding anything contained in Sec- tion 45 of the Indian Cntract Act, 1872 (9 0f [872), in the casc of bond issued, sold or held payable to two O5 more holdcrs, the survivors Or survivor und on the death of the last survivor, his executors, admini- strators, O any person who is the holder of succession certificatc in respect of such bond shall be thz only person who may be recognised by thc office of issuc (subject to any general or special instructions of the prescribed oflicer) aS heving any title to the bond.

19 · Liability in respect of bond renewed etc. When duplicate tond has been issued under Te- gulation 11 Or reneved bond has been issued or new bond has been issued upon sub-division Or conso- lidation under regulation 17, in favour of person, the bond SO issued shall be deemed (o consritute new contract hetween the National Housing Bank and such person and 4ll pcrsons deriving title tbereafter through him.

20 · Discharge The National Housing Bank shall be discharged from all liability in respect cf the bond or bonds paid on maturity Or in place of which duplicate, re- newed; sub-divided Or consolidated bond or bonds has Or have been ' issued (a) in the case of payment, after the lapse of four years from tle daie on which payment was due,

21 · Discharge in respect of interest Save as otherwise expressly provided in the terms of: the bond, no persun shall be entitled t0 claim inte- rest on any such bond in respect of any period which has elapsed after the earliest date on which demand could have been made for the payment of the amount due on such bond, 22.
