1 · Short title and commencement - ( 1) Tbese rules may hc called Ihe Prevention and Control of Infeetious and Contagious Diseascs in Animals (Form of Vaccination Certificate, Manuer o Post Mortem Examination and Disposal of" Carcass) Rules, 2010. (2) They: shall comc into forcc on the date of their 'publication in the Official Gazette: 2. Definitions: In these rules unless the context otherwise required;

3 · Form of vaccination certificate:- (1) The Director shall notify thc institutions for agencics and persons compctcnt to vaccinate the animals and issue vaccination certificate under section 9 ofthe Act in the controlled area; free area or infected arca_

Disposal of thc carcass ofan animal infected with a scheduled notified disease: (1) Thc carcass O un animnal that has died uf & scheduled nolified discase, Or the carcass of the animal clthanized under Seclion 25 , the owner of the animal shall dispose off the carcass either by burial, incineration or rcndering. (2) The veterinarian shall supervise thc burial or incineration, which shall be pcrformed preferably al the premises ofthe owlicr ofthe animal or the nearest location; as considered appropriate hy the competent oflicer. (3) The competent officer; if rcquired, shall arrange transportation ofthe carcass 0f ahe infccled animal in a secured vehicle to the sitc of the disposal and the vehicle uscd for transportation of the dcad animal shall bc properly clealed and disinfected by thc vehicle owner. (4) The veterinarian or the Velerinary Officer shall cnsure that thc disposal of carcass is by &ny (: D thc tollowing methods_ amely (a) Burial- (i) the size of the pit for thc burial shall be bigger %lan Ihe size of the animal that allows wll parts of lhc animai carcass to be buried in the burial pit and at (cast one metre of covering soil shall be used t0 cap the pit. (ii) layer of five-centimclre lime shall be put a1 the bollom 0l thc burial pit &nd again over thc carcass hlorc filling the soil.
