West Ben. Act II of 1966. West Ben. Ord. XII f Ord. XII of 1976. GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL LEGISLATIVE DEPARTMENT West Bengal Act XLIV of 1976 THE CALCUTTA UNIVERSITY (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1976. [Passed by the West Bengal Legislature.] [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Calcutta Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 5th November, 1976.] [5th November, 1976.] An Act to amend the Calcutta University Act, 1966. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Calcutta University Act, 1966, for the purpose and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Twenty-seventh Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows:- 1. This Act may be called the Calcutta University (Amendment) Short title. Act, 1976. 2. In sub-section (2) of section 8 of the Calcutta University Act, Amendment ooff West seetioge8 Ben. 1966 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), for the words "inclusive of West B all allowances", the words "and such other emoluments as the Act II of Chancellor may decide" shall be, and shall be deemed always to have 1966. been, substituted. 3. (I) The Calcutta University (Amendment) Ordinance, 1976, is hereby repealed. (2) Anything done or any action taken under the said Act as amended by the Calcutta University (Amendment) Ordinance, 1976, shall be deemed to have been validly done or taken under the said Act as amended by this Act as if this Act had commenced on the 14th day of June, 1976.
