West Ben. Aot XXXIII of 1955. GOVERNMENT OF wm- BENGAL LEGISLATIVE DEPARTMENT West Bengal Act XXVII of 1962 THE JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1962. [Passed by the West Bengal Legislature.] [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Calcutta Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 28th January, 1963.] [28th January, 1963.] An Act to amend the Jadavntr University Act, 1955. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Jadavpur University Act, 1955 for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter appearing ; It is hereby enacted in the Thirteenth Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows :— • This Act may be called the Jadavpur University Short title. (Amendment) Act, 1962. In section 2 of the Jadavpur University Act, 1955 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), before clause (a), the following clause shall be inserted, namely :— `(a1) "financial year" means the year ending on the 31st day of March;'. In section 4 of the said Act,— in sub-sections (2) and (3), for the words, figures and brackets "items (i), (ii), (iii) or (iv)", the words, figures and brackets "items (i), and (iv)" shall be substituted; in sub-section (4), after clause (a), the following clause shall be inserted, namely :— "(aa) the President of the National Council, ex-officio ;". After clause (14) of section 5 of the said Act, tne following clause shall be inserted, namely: — "(14a) to raise loans on the security of the assets of the University or otherwise ;".
