1 · Short title and commcncement These regulationg may be called Thc National Hous- ing Bank (Slum Improvement and Low Cost Houa- ing Fund) Regulatione, 1993 ji) 'They shall comc into force on the datc of thclr publication in tbe Ofcial Gazette. 2 Defihitions In these regulations , unlcss the conlext otherwisc requires Act" meang the National Housing Bank Act, 1987 (53 of 1987). (ii) "Fund" mcans the special fund referrcd to i clause (hh) of Scction 14 of thc Act (iii) Words und cxpressions used hcrcin and not dcfncd in thege regulations but u8ed in tb Act have thc ncaning respectivcly aggigned to Lhem in tbc Act: 3 Eetablishment of the Fund Thcre shall be established for the pUrpOses_ot theec regulations spccial fund_for financing Slum Im provement and Low Cost Housing for the pOOr: ii) Thc fund shall be held and adminlgtercd by thbe Board, Credit to the Fund The fund shall consist of forty per cent of the amount deposited by eny porton voluntarlly to the National Houslng Bunk in accOr- dance with the gchemc framed under Section 14(hb) of thc Act for the purposc of voluntary Dposite (Jmmunltics and Excmptiona) Act, 1991 (47 of 1991) (ii) all amounts received towarde its cOrpug from Govem- ment or any other peraon (iii) ell amounts received tor the purpose of the tund by way of loans, elfto, grants, donations, benefactiona or othcrwise trom tho Government Or any other perwon in Or oulaide India
