S.0. 249(E)._ -Whereas the draft rules, namely, the Plastics (Marufacture, Usagc and Waste Management) Rules, 2009 were published by the Government of India in the Ministry of Environment and Forests vide nurber $.O. 2400(E) dated the 17 Septenber, 2009 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary cf the sane date inviting objections and suggestions trom all persons likely to be affected thereby, cefore the expiry of # pericd of sixty days from the date o which copies of the Gazette containing the said notification were made available to the public; AND WHEREAS copies of the said Gazette were made &vailable to tne public on the 17th day of September, 2009; AND WHEREAS the objections and suggesions received within the saic' period from the public in respect of the said draft rules have been duly ~onsidered by the Central Government. NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred ty sections 3, 6, and 25 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), and in supersession of the Recycled Plastics Manufacture and Usage Rules, 1999, except as respects things done cr omitted to be done before such supersession; the Central Government hereby makes the following Rules, namely: - 5 Short title and commedcement (1) These rules may be called the Plastic Waste (lanagerent and Hiandling) Rules, 2011. (2) They shall come into force On the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2.
