(EXTRA.), APRIL 28, 2011 51 (VYSK 8, 1933 SAKA) PART-I DEPARTMENT OF LEGAL AND LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS, PUNJAB Notification The 28 th April, 2011 No. 20-Leg./2011.-The following Act of the Legislature of the State of Punjab received the assent of the Governor of Punjab on the 20 th April, 2011 and is hereby published for general information:- THE PUNJAB SECURITY OF LAND TENURES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2011 (Punjab Act No. 16 of 2011) AN ACT Further to amend the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Sixty-second Year of the Republic of india as follows:- (1) This Act may be called the Punjab Security of Land Tenures (Amendment)Act, 2011. Short title and commencement. It shall come into force at once. In the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in section 9-A, in the third proviso at the end, for the sign ".", the sign "." Shall be substituted, and thereafter, the following proviso shall be added, namely:- Amendment in section 9A of Punjab Act X of 1953. "Provided further that if the tenant is a company registered under the companies Act, 1956, it shall not be entitled to claim benefit under this section." 3.In the principal Act, in section 18, after sub-section (I). If the tenant is a company registered under the Companies Act, 1956, it shall not be entitled to purchase land from the landowner under this section:" Amendment in section 18 of Punjab Act X of "(I-A). Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (I), if the tenant is a company registered under the Companies Act, 1956, it shall not be entitled to purchase land from the landowner under this section:" 1953.
