[Passed by the West Bengal Legislature.] [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Kolkata Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 18th January, 20021 An Act to amend the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education Act, 1975. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education Act, 1975, for the puiposes and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-second Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows:- This Act may be called the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (Amendment) Act, 2001. In sub-section (1) of section 4 of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education Act, 1975, (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act),— after clause (b), the following clause shall be inserted:— "(bb) The President of the West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education established under the West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education Act, 1994, ex officio;"; for clause (c), the following clause shall be substituted:— "(c) The Director of School Education, West Bengal, ex officio, or, in his absence, any officer in the rank of Joint Director of School Education, West Bengal, authorised by him in this behalf;". Short title. Amendment of section 4 of West Ben. Act VIII of 1975. Amendment of section 19. The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (Amendment) Act, 2001. [West Ben.
