17 · Collection of fee and deposit into the Treasury.-(1) Before commcncing thc work of vcrifrcation'or re-verification, the I.cgal Mctrology Officcr shall inform thc pcrson concerncd of the fees payabl.e by him and shall reccive thc samc in thc manngr as authorised by thc Controllcr and issue a rcccipt on thb form approvcd by thc Controllcr, and thc duplicate copy of such reccipt being kept on rccord:

18 · Disposal of seized weight, measure, etc.ll) Aay un-verifrcd weight or. measluc shail bc reh-rrned to thc person from whom such weight- or mcasure was scized if that pcrson gcts the-saure vcrified and stamped, within fiftcen days of the rcturn, on payment of the prescribcd fee including the additional fee payablc for undcrtaking rc-verification after the cxpiry of the validity of the stamp.
