In exercise of the powers confened by Section 36 of the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act; 2014 (No.7 0f 2014). the State Government; hereby, makes the following rules relating to street vending in the State of Chhattisgarh; namely: RULES Short title and commencement These rules shall be called the Chhattisgarh Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regula- tion of Street Vending) Rules, 2015. It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette . Definitions. In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires, ~Act" means the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vend- ing) Act; 2014 (No. 7 of 2014); "Form means the form appended to these rules; "Market Committee means the Market Committee constituted by the Municipal Autho- rity for the area under his jurisdiction; ~Mayor" means Mayor of the Municipal Corporation constituted under the Chhattisgarh Municipal Corporation Act; 1956 (No. 23 of 1956); "Municipal Officer" means the Municipal Commissioner in the case of Municipal Corpo- rations and the President of the municipal body in the case of Municipalities and Nagar Panchayats; "President" means the President of the municipal body in the case of a Municipality or a Nagar Panchayat constituted under the Chhattisgarh Municipalities Act; 1961 (No. 37 of 1961).
