Uttar Pradesh Shashan Bhutatwa Evam Khanikarm Anubhag In pursuance of the provisions of clause (3) of Article 348 of the Constitution, the Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of Notification no--_ ~Dated-_ 2018 Notification No 3091 /86-2018-183/2011 Lucknow: dated 20/12/ 2018 In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 23C of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (Act no.67 of 1957), read with section 21 of the general clauses act 1897 and in supersession of notification no. 4268/77-2002-53/2001 dated 02.09.2003 regarding the Uttar Pradesh Minerals (Prevention of Illegal Mining Transportation and storage) Rules; 2002, the Governor of Uttar Pradesh is pleased to make the following rules with a view to prevent illegal mining, transportation and storage of minerals in the State of Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh Minerals (Prevention of Illegal Mining, Transportation and Storage) Rules, 2018 CHAPTER-l Preliminary These rules may be called the Uttar Pradesh Minerals Short Title, (Prevention of Illegal Mining; Transportation and Storage) extent and Rules 2018. commencem ent They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Gazette. In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires- Definitions "Act" means the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act1957 (Act no.67 of 1957); "District Officer" means Collector or District Magistrate of the concern district; "Carrier" means any mode of conveyance or facility by which mineral is transported from one place to another and it includes Truck, Tractor, Dumper, Rail, vessel or any other means; "Check-post" means any permanent or temporary structure managed by authorized personnel to verify the documents relating_to transport of min
