GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL LAW DEPARTMENT Legislative West Bengal Act VI of 1994 THE WEST BENGAL STATE HEALTH SERVICE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1994. [Passed by the West Bengal Legislature:] [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Calcutta Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 22nd March; 1994.] [22nd March, 1994.] An Act to amend the West Bengal State Health Service Act, 1990. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the West Bengal State Health Service Act, 1990,forthe purpose andin themannerhereinafterappearing; Itis hereby enacted in the Forty-fifth Year ofthe Republic of India; by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows: West Ben_ Act VII of 1990. 1. (1) This Act may be called the West Bengal State Health Service Short title and (Amendment) Act; 1994. commence- ment_ (2) Section 3 shall come into force at once; and the remaining provisions of this Act shall be deemedto have come into force on the 2Sth day of May, 1990. 2 In section 19A ofthe West Bengal State Health Service Act, 1990 Amendment of section (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act); 19A of West Ben_ Act VII (a) after the words "elevate O promote any person holding of 1990. teaching post in the West Bengal Medical Education Service to higher rank the words or make recruitment to any teaching postin the West Bengal MedicalEducation Service, shall be inserted; (b) in the proviso; for the words period of three years the words "a period of five years" shall be substituted, 3. Anything done or any action taken under the principal Act as Saving and validation amended by this Act before the publication of this Act in the Official Gazette shall be deemed to have been validly done o taken under the principal Act as amendedby this Actas ifthis Act were in force when such thing was done Or such action was taken. 37
