V)H7 (3 of 1988) , the Central Government hereby makes the following rules , namely:— 1 . Short title and commencement.—(1) These rules may be called the Commitsion of Sati (Prevention) Rules , 198S . They shall come into force on thc date , of their publication in thc Official Gazette . 2 . Definitions.—(1) Tn there rules , unless the context other -wise requires,— (a) "Act " means the Commission of Sati (Prevention) Act , 1987 (3 of 1988); (b) "prohibitory order " means an order issued under section 6; <c) "section " means section of the Act . Words and expressions used but not defined in the^c rules and defined in the -Act shall have the lame meanings as arc respectively assigned to them in the \ct . 3 .
