GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL LAW DEPARTMENT Legislative West Bengal Act XII of 1993 THE BURDWAN UNIVERSITY (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1993. [Passed by the West Bengal Legislature: [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Calcutta Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 27th August; 1993.] [27th August, 1993.] An Act t0 amend the Burdwan University Act; 1981. West Ben Act XXIII of 1981. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Burdwan University Act, 4981, for the purpose and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Forty-fourth Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows: 1. (1) This Act may be called the Burdwan University (Amend- Short title ment) Act; 1993. and commence - (2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government ment _ may by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint: 2. In section 22 of the Burdwan University Act; 1981, Amendment of section 22 (1) in sub-section (1), of West Ben (a) in clause (b); the word "and" shall be omitted; Act XXIIof 1981. (b) in clause (c); for the words and Technology: the words "and Technology; and" shall be substituted; (c) after clause (c), the following clause shal' be inserted: "(d) Faculty Council for Post-Graduate Studies in Medicine.' (2) in sub-section (2), after the words "Engineering and Technology" the words and Medicine" shall be inserted; (3) in sub-section (3), for the words Faculty Council" the words "The Faculty Council" shall be substituted; after sub-section (3), the following sub-section shall be inserted: "(3A) The Faculty Council for Post-Graduate Studies in Medicine shall consist of the following members: (i) the Vice-Chancellor- Chairman; (ii) the Principals of the constituent colleges in which instruction is provided for courses of study in Medici
