DIRECTORATE OF TRANSPORT NOTIFICATION Port Blair, dated the 31st July, 2018 No. 210/2018/F.No.3-ll/MVD/Fancy/2017.In exercise of powers conferred by Sub Section (1) of Section 65 of the Motor Vehicles Act,1988 (Act No. 59 of 1988) read with Sub Section (41) of Section 2 of the said Act and in supersession of Notification No. 29 of 2014 dated 28-02-2014 and Notification No. 118 of 2015 dated 26-05-2015, the Lieutenant Governor (Administrator), Andaman and Nicobar Islands hereby makes the following Rules further to amend the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Motor Vehicles Rule, 2006 after the same having been previously published in the Extraordinary Gazette of Andaman and Nicobar vide Notification No.65/2018/F.No.3-11/MVD/Fancy/2017 dated 11th April, 2018, as required by Sub-Section (1) of Section 212 of the above Act, namely :- RULES (i) These rules may be called the Andaman. Nicobar Islands Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2018. (ii) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Andaman & Nicobar Official Gazette. In the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Motor Vehicles Rules, 2006, after Rule 34, the following rule shall be inserted as Rule 34-A: "34 A-Fee for assignment of Registration Mark of choice. (i) Reservation of fancy registration mark shall be made for the registration of a new motor vehicle under Section 39 of the Act, on an application made to the Registering Authority by the owner of a motor vehicle. (ii) Fancy Registration Marks and the fee for reservation of such marks shall be as prescribed
