GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL LAW DEPARTMENT Legislative NOTIFICATION No. 645-L.-28th April, 2008.—The following Act of the West Bengal Legislature, having been assented to by the Governor, is hereby published for general information:— West Bengal Act XIII of 2008 THE WEST BENGAL COLLEGE SERVICE COMMISSION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2008. [Passed by the West Bengal Legislature.] [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Kolkata Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 28th April, 2008.] An Act to amend the West Bengal College Service Commission Act, 1978. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the West Bengal College Service Commission Act, 1978, for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows:- (1) This Act may be called the West Bengal College Service Commission (Amendment) Act, 2008. It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. [SAKA 1930 West Ben. Act UCH of 1978. Amendment of section 2 of West Ben. Act LXII of 1978. Amendment of section 3. Amendment of section 3A. Amendment of section 4. The West Bengal College Service Commission (Amendment) Act, 2008. (Sections 2-5.) In section 2 of the West Bengal College Service Commission Act, 1978 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), for clause (q), the following clause shall be substituted:— `(q) "University" means any of the Universities constituted or established, as the case may be, under— In sub-section (1) of section 3 of the principal Act, for the words "eleven members", theRule TOC

If in a College no student is admitted in a particular subject tion by the Commission. for five consecutive academic sessions, the Commission may, with the prior consent of the State Government, re-recommend a teacher of such subject to a college where such students are available.".
