MADHYA PRADESH STATE PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF WATER POLLUTION BOARD AND ITS COMMITTEES (MEETINGS) RULES 1975 1 1.Short title- These rules may be called the Madhya Pradesh State Prevention and Control of Water Pollution Board and its Committees(Meetings) Rules,1975 . Definitions.-In these rules, unless the context otherwise require: (a) "Act" means the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution)Act, 1974 (No.6 of 1974): (b) "Board" means the Madhya Pradesh State Prevention and Control of Water Pollution Board constituted under sub section (1) of section 4 of the Act: (c) "Chairman" means the Chairman of the Board: (d) "Member Secretary" means the Member-Secretary of the Board.: ( e) "Member" means the member of the Board Convening of Meetings of the Board. A meeting of the Board shall be either ordinary or special. The date of every meeting shall be fixed by the Chairman. (3)2 Notice of every meeting specifying the time and place there-of and the business to be transacted there in shall be sent to every member under certificate of posting and exhibited at the office of the Board seven clear days before an ordinary meeting and three clear days before a Special meeting. Beside this, with the permission of the Chairman additional proposal, if any, may be brought before the committee, if it is exhibited at the appropriate time at the office of the board and at the place of the meeting. 4. Power of Chairman to call special meeting :- The Chairman may whenever he thinks fit, call a special meeting for the transaction of the business of urgent nature. 5. 5 · Place of meeting :- Every meeting of the board shall ordinarily be held in premises used as office by the board but the chairman may if he thinks fit, hold a meeting at any place in Madhya Pradesh.

6 · Chairman of meeting.-At every meeting of the Board, the Chairman if present or in his absence, such one of their members as the members may elect, shall preside.

7 · Quorum-(1) No business shall be transacted at a meeting of the Board unless a quorum of six members be present throughout the meeting.

9 · Decision of Questions by Majority of votes._ All questions brought before any meeting of the Board shall be decided by a majority of the votes of the members present and in the case of equality of votes, the presiding authority at the meeting shall have a second or a casting vote.

10 · Application of Rules to meeting of Committees._ Rules 3 to 7 shall apply mutates mutandis to the meeting of the committees constituted under section 9 of the Act subject to the modification that the fixation of place of meeting shall be subject to the approval of the chairman.
