Uttar Pradesh Shasan Geology And Mining Section In pursuance of the Provisions of clause (3) of Article 348 of the Constitution of India, the Governor is pleased to order the publication of following English translation of notification no. 1157/86-2021-03 (Sa) / 2021 dated 29 October, 2021. Notification No. 1157/86-2021-03 (Sa) / 2021 Dated: Lucknow 29 October, 2021 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 15 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (Act no. 67 of 1957), read with section 21 of the General Clauses Act, 1897 and in supersession of the Uttar Pradesh Minor Minerals (Concession) Rules, 1963, the Governor is pleased to make the following rules with a view to regulating the concession of minor minerals and other purposes connected there with:- THE UTTAR PRADESH MINOR MINERALS (CONCESSION) RULES, 2021 CHAPTER-1 Preliminary These rules may be called the Uttar Pradesh Minor Minerals They shall extend to the whole of Uttar Pradesh. They shall come into force with effect from the date of their publication in the Gazette. They shall apply to all the minor minerals available in the State. Definitions 2. (1) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "Act" means the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (Act No. 67 of 1957); (b) "Captive mines" shall mean the mining lease where more than 50 percent of the entire quantity of mineral extracted from the lease is used in an industry owned by the lessee; (c) "Committee" means the Committee, consisting of the District Officer as Chairman and the representatives of the Director and the Divisional Forest Officer as members, constituted by the State Government by Notification No. 4343/18 12-90-601/87, dated August 29, 1990, whom the State Go
