4 · Powers and Duties of University. — The University shall have the following powers and duties, namely :—

6 · The Provost. — (1) There shall be a Provost who shall be the chairperson of the General Council.

8 · Control of State Government on University.—(1) The provisions of sub-sections (1), (2), (3), (4), (6), (7) and (8) of section 8 regarding the control of the State Government on universities, shall apply mutatis mutandis to the University constituted under this notification.

17 · Powers and duties of the General Council.—The General Council shall have the following powers, namely :-(1) to provide general superintendence and directions and to control functioning of the University.

18 · Business of General Council.—The General Council shall transact the following business at its meeting, namely :—

19 · Board of Governance.—(1) The Board of Governance of the University shall be the principal executive and policy making authority of the University and shall be responsible for administering the affairs of the University.

20 · Powers and duties of Board of Governance.—(1) The provisions relating to powers and duties of the Management Council provided under clauses (a) to (d), (f) to (y), (za), (zc) to (zi), and (zl) of section 31 of the Act shall, mutatis mutandis, apply in respect of the powers and duties of the Board of Governance of the University.

21 · Academic Council.—(1) The Academic Council of the University shall be the principal academic body of the University and shall, subject to the provisions of this notification and the rules, statutes and ordinances made for the purpose, Co-ordinate and exercise general supervision over the academic policies of the University.

22 · Powers and duties of Academic Council.—The Academic Council of the University shall have the following powers and functions.-

23 · Certain provisions of the Act to apply mutatis mutandis.—The following provisions of the Act, shall mutatis mutandis, apply in respect of the University, namely :—

29 · Removal of doubts—For the removal of doubt, it is hereby decided that, the provisions of the Act, which are not expressly modified by virtue of paragraph 23 above and by implication of the provisions contained herein, shall continue to apply to the University.
