UTTAR PRADESH SHASAN PARIVAHAN ANUBHAG-3 No. 39/1571/30-3-14-32M/2013TC Lucknow; 16 June, 2014 Notification In supersession of the Notification No. 61G.I./30-3-94-124M/94, dated 2801-1995 issued in respect of the Uttar Pradesh State Road Safety Council issued under Section 215 (2) of the Central Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and other subsequent notifications relating to the State Road Safety Council of Uttar Pradesh, the Governor is pleased to constitute of the Uttar Pradesh State Road Safety Council as under:- 2- The Chairman of the Council may co-opt any other subject expert as a Special Invitee Member of the Council and may cancel the nomination of any member. 3- The State Road Safety Council will be empowered to consider and take decisions regarding the following functions: (i) To provide suggestions for incorporating minimum road safety standards in the design and construction of highways and other important roads. (ii) To provide suggestions for the development of driver skills and the establishment of driving training institutes and driving tracks in the state to strengthen the licensing process and to encourage private sector participation in this field. (iii) To formulate, implement, and coordinate a plan to create awareness regarding road safety. (iv) To formulate a policy regarding providing timely medical care to persons injured in road accidents. (v) To formulate a policy/plan regarding providing financial assistance to persons injured and killed in road accidents. (vi) To formulate a policy for the effective implementation of the rules related to road safety as mentioned in the Motor Vehicles Act and Rules. (vii) Formulate road safety schemes and programs. (viii) Provide guidelines for coordinating the work of all departments involved in road safety. (ix) Cons
