Thegovernor is plcascd to order thc publication of thc following English translation of notification no,KN; 5-3338/11-2004-500(32)-2003 dated July 2, 2004 for general information: no,K,N5-5-3338/11-2004-500(327-2003 daled Lucknow July 2, 2004 In exercise of the powers under clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 9 of thc Indian Stamp Act 1899 (Act no. 2 of 1899) as amended from time to time in its application to Uttar Pradesh the Governor is pleased t0 reduce for the period commencing Ori April 1,2004 to March 31 , 2005 Ine slamp duly chareable under clause (a) of Arlicle 23 of Schedule 1-B of Ihe said Act on the instrument executed by the person authorized by the state Govemment of Ultar Pradesh in favour of Ihe lessee of Nazul land for the purpose of converting leasehold rights into freehold rights in the said land t0 the extent of the of Satamp Duty Chargable on the amound tnat exceeds tne amount of the conderation set folh in such freehold instrument uplo tne market value of Ine said Nazul land; Provided that tnis notification shall not apply to matrers relating to granting freehold right in Nazul land by way of auction or invition of tender, Explanation: for the purpose of this notification the word consideration means thc frcchold charges and thc interested thereon if any takcn by the person authorizcd by the statc Government of the Uitar Pradesh for the purpose of conerting leasehold rights into freehold rights, By order Rita Sinha Pramukh Sachiv
